Teachers, parents and carers only see the consequences, but are often unaware or unable to adequately explain the cause of the problems a child experiences at school.
They see that the results are lagging behind, but they do not understand why a child cannot perform better in tests, lags behind in development or shows a certain behaviour.
And therein lies my strength. I’ll investigate the cause and get to work.

AD(H)D en ASS
AD(H)D
AD(H)D is an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. People with AD(H)D cannot devote their attention enough to learning or their behavior.

Autism
Everyone has characteristics of autism, but that does not mean everyone has autism. People with autism experience more intensely what they hear, see, smell, taste and feel. They also have more difficulty with changes and social contact.
It can also have strong sides: people with autism are more often creative and good at thinking logically and working precisely.
In the past, there were different types of autism: classic autism (also: core autism), Asperger’s and PDD-NOS. Since version 5 of the DSM, all of this falls under the term autism spectrum disorder, usually abbreviated to autism.
If someone gets stuck in day-to-day functioning, or feels unhappy, a diagnosis can help find out what’s causing it and what can be done about it.
People with autism can differ a lot from each other. After all, every person has a different mix of strengths and weaknesses.
Many children with autism regularly suffer from overstimulation or understimulation. Hypersensitivity can also be the reason a child seems uninterested or has difficulty sleeping.
Difficulty recognizing context is understandable when you consider that people with autism often see many details rather than the big picture. Theveye for details and the need to make a logical connection between them, is their strength at the same time.
Many people with autism have difficulty taking the step from wanting to doing.
